Matthew Funk Barley

From a very early age, I have been interested in creating and building - no matter what the material. The challenge of aesthetic design, artistic excellence and beauty became a passion from this early time, and over 15 years later, I continue to grow, learn, and love my craft. I endeavor to keep the art of woodworking alive, largely with traditional hand tools and power tools when needed. Most of my traditional woodworking is furniture, church architectural details, and residential construction.
I own and operate a one-man cabinet shop and I am an independent contractor. I do work with other contractors on custom homes. I specialize in traditional American furniture of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, with a particular interest in Windsor chairs. When I examine an antique I see features I am attracted to and others which leave me cold. For this reason, my pieces are one of a kind works of art. I don't reproduce antiques unless I have a customer ask me to make reproductions.
Please feel free to contact me, if you are in the area, and are interested in Windsor chairs, traditional american furniture, antiques, and fine art. I am always delighted to show off what I am working on at any given moment.
